A Happy Holiday

Whew! It’s hard to believe that Christmas has come and gone. Each year, the actual day seems to happen in the blink of an eye, after listening to holiday music for months, shopping for friends and family, and decorating the home. A wonderful time was had by the entire family in Pennsylvania. We spent Christmas Eve with my husband’s side of the family, feasting on a modern version of the seven fishes Italian tradition, opening gifts and being merry. On Christmas Day, we brunched with my side of the family, and then opened presents, had a delicious turkey dinner and played after-dinner games. The threatening snow storm caused us to pack up quickly and head home to Delaware late on Christmas, taking my brother with us. The snow hit on Sunday, leaving us cozied up on the couch watching t.v. and relaxing. Surprisingly, my brother’s flight from Philadelphia to Seattle (and then on to Portland) was NOT canceled on Monday, and the hubby dug our car out of the snow at 4 a.m. to make it to the airport on time. All the family is home now, and everyone is back to work for a few days before New Year’s Eve. I’ve enjoyed catching up with all of your holiday posts – it sounds like everyone had a fabulous celebration!
