Five Pretty Posts

Welcome to Friday -- I hope you’ve all had a fantastic week! I’m headed out to see Water for Elephants later this afternoon with a few friends. The book was amazing, so I’m really looking forward to seeing the film! Hopefully everyone has a wonderful weekend and, if you’re celebrating, Happy Easter! To kick off the weekend, here are five pretty posts from around the web this week:

If you’re feeling crafty, 100 Layer Cake has a great tutorial for making paper flowers (shown above!) Admittedly, this is not an Earth friendly project, but it is perfect for Cinco de Mayo!

I’m loving the idea of a patterned bridesmaid dress, thanks to Maggie at Black | White {Side by Side}! Perfect for spring and summer, don’t you think?

“You’ve Got Mail” is one of my favorite movies of all time, so I was immediately drawn to Christine’s post on Bun & Borough, entitled, “You wouldn’t want to miss New York in the spring” (a Tom Hanks quote from the film). She put together three lovely ensembles for springtime in NYC. I adore them all!

This polka-dotted outfit, put together by Dallas Shaw on Dilly Dallas, is fabulous. My favorite piece is the aqua belt -- love that pop of color.

I might have to throw a tea party or luncheon soon, because I really want to give these little lavender lemonade cakes a whirl! They are the cutest little things – thanks for posting, Diana of exPress-o!

Five Pretty Posts

Five very pretty posts from blog-land this week:

Brooklyn Bride posted a stunning white and silver image board that you must see. The reason behind the palette choice? “Because we all need a little sparkle in our lives.”

I agree with Chelsea of Lovely Indeed – orange is a fantastic color. Check out her orange image board for some inspiration. I think I need to incorporate more orange into my wardrobe, stat!

This spring table setting, spotted on Somewhere Splendid, will brighten up your day. If I was going to host an Easter brunch, I’d definitely look to this post for inspiration! The colors are great.

The Vintage Bake Sale post on Twig & Thistle had me at “bake”. Add vintage packaging and display elements to sweets and you’ve got an award-winning post!

The Perfect Palette is a newer blog discovery for me, and I am in love with the great color combos featured. This powder blue and camel image board is so serene and pretty.

Five Pretty Posts

Here's a little weekend reading for you -- sit back and enjoy!

The lovely Annemarie of Brunch at Saks whipped up some homemade Thin Mints. I was trying very hard not to droll while reading her post. My weekend plans might involve making a batch or five.

This study of color, spotted on How About Orange is really interesting -- a great read for anyone. Surprisingly, only 3% of women polled share my love for yellow! How could this be?

Snippet & Ink’s Kathryn has finally shared her wedding photos (by the amazingly talented Elizabeth Messina). The photos are absolutely beautiful, along with the inspiration for her big day (bouquet, venue, stationery, etc.) Her taste is just exquisite!

How would you like to have this floral chandelier in your foyer? Wow! I can imagine how nice it would make your home smell -- so fresh and sweet!

Ever since some of Hollywood’s finest walked the red carpet in emerald green this award’s season, I’ve been crushing on the color. I own one emerald green item -- a ruffled cardigan. This post on the Lonny blog has inspired me to spend a little green on green.

These dainty cake decorations, spotted on 100 Layer Cake, make me smile -- they are just so festive and uber adorable. I really wish I had the need to decorate a cake!

Lay Baby Lay has the cutest inspiration when it comes to little babes. I love the nursery ideas, but love the ideas for wall art even more. I’m head over heels for this adorable stork design -- it would make such a nice gift, don’t you think?

The bride’s look for this vintage Alabama wedding is simply stunning. Her hairstyle and dress give her an old Hollywood style. Be sure to click through to view the rest of the photos -- the details are beyond beautiful.

I’ve seen a lot vintage-style furniture being used at outdoor wedding venues and in photo shoots, and Ritzy Bee has rounded up some fantastic pieces! I love the chipped paint and rustic charm.

Atlantic-Pacific is a new blog find for me this week -- big thank you to Little White Whale for pointing it out! This girl has some serious style. I’m loving this rainy day look, complete with a preppy trench and red wellies.
